Yesterday I supplied a Casio AJ-A140 to a customer, I previously had not had the chance to see this in the flesh as it’s pretty new.
This is one of the first LED projectors to hit the market, it is a DLP projector with an LED/Laser hybrid lightsource. This gives a number of advantages, long lamp life 20,000 hours!, constant and almost immediate brightness of lamp. The big advantage for the customer who boughtt it and uses it for kids and youth work was the robustness of the lamp, if the power is removed it can be immediately plugged back in with instant picture and no damage to the lamp.
As I say I only had 5 minutes with the device but was immediately impressed. The unit has auto focus and auto keystone for very easy setup just point in the direction of the screen or wall and you’re away. The unit is slightly smaller and lighter than a yellow pages and comes in it’s own padded wallet. The colours were vivid, and a bright image (quoted 2500 ansi lumens). Blacks and dark images not as impressive but that’s comparing to a dedicated home cinema projector.
I’d recommend this projector for sales staff on the move, light, easy to setup and bright and can handle the constant on/off moving of an on the go presentations job.
